Cookie Policy
This policy explains which cookies and similar technologies Freexel uses, why, and how you control them. It complements our Privacy Policy.
Summary
No advertising, analytics or tracking cookies. We only set one first-party cookie, which remembers your cookie choice.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. Similar technologies, such as local storage and caches, work alike. We call all of them “cookies” here unless we say otherwise.
Cookie we set
| Name | Category | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| freexel_consent | Essential | Stores your cookie choice (allowed or refused) so we do not ask again. | 180 days |
Local storage and caches
| Item | Category | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| freexel_opts | Preferences | Remembers your compression settings. | Until you clear it |
| freexel_presets, freexel_stats | Preferences | Guest presets and usage totals on this device. | Until you clear it |
| freexel_nudge_* | Preferences | Remembers that you dismissed an account suggestion so it does not reappear for a day. | Until you clear it |
| vx_auth | Essential | A flag that tells the site to load the sign-in library only when you are signed in, so pages load faster for everyone else. | Until you sign out |
| Firebase sign-in session | Essential | Keeps you signed in. Only used if you create an account or sign in. | Until you sign out |
| Site and model cache | Essential | Offline use and avoiding re-downloading the AI model. | Until you clear it |
Preferences items are written to your device only if you allow them. Until then they live in memory and disappear when you close the tab.
Third parties
We do not use third-party advertising or analytics. Signing in loads the Firebase library from Google (gstatic.com). If you choose “Continue with Google”, Google may set its own cookies on google.com under its own policies. Freexel does not receive them. If you sign in with Google, your Google profile photo is loaded directly from Google to show it in your account; we do not store it.
Your choices
- Use the banner on your first visit, or at any time (also in the footer) to change your mind.
- Turning Preferences off deletes the preference items listed above from this browser.
- You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Essential items are needed for sign-in and offline use, so some features may stop working.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. We will change the date above and, if we ever add new categories, ask for your consent again.
